HUNTINGTON -- The Jeffrey E. George Comfort Hospitality House is observing National Hospitality House Week July 20-26.

Co-founders Lillian Dick and Dr. Jeffrey George, board members and volunteers all contribute so much to provide a comfortable home away from home for out-of-area families, said executive director Jo Fannin, in a press release.

Fannin invites area residents to stop by during hospitality house week for a tour and complimentary gift.

The Jeffrey E. George house provides clean, inexpensive accommodations in a supportive family-centered adult environment with food, laundry, telephone and kitchen facilities. The house provides for Cabell, Cornerstone, Health South, Mildred Bateman, River Park, Veterans Hospital and St. Mary's health care facilities.

Each year more than 1,800 patients' family members travel to the house to seek specialized medical care for a loved one's serious injury or illness and stay in our Comfort House.

The house is more than nine years old and has provided for more than 16,000 guests from 12 foreign countries and 42 states. It operates on donations and is staffed by volunteers.
