One killed, one injured in I-64 crash

HURRICANE, W.Va. -- One person was killed, and another injured, in a one-vehicle crash Friday on Interstate 64 just east of the Hurricane exit.

According to Putnam County 911 Dispatch, the accident happened approximately 2:30 p.m. Friday when the vehicle ended up in the median. The survivor was transported to St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington for treatment.

Both east and westbound lanes were closed for roughly an hour while emergency crews managed the scene.
