SOUTH POINT, Ohio -- The Lawrence Drug and Major Crimes Task Force and the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office arrested a man and woman from Columbus late Monday and seized more than 100 grams of crack cocaine, $1,000 cash and scales.
Tony Lark, 25, was arrested on drug-trafficking and possession charges, among other charges, such as fleeing, tampering with evidence and possession of criminal tools, according to a press release from the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department. Twanita Edwards, 28, was arrested on charges of complicity to drug-trafficking and complicity to possession. Monday morning, they were in the Lawrence County Jail awaiting arraignment.
The arrests came after an investigation by the Lawrence Drug and Major Crimes Task Force. Officers and deputies were involved in a vehicle pursuit before making the arrests, the release said. It ended in a vehicle crash and was followed by a foot pursuit near County Road 410 and County Road 1 in South Point.
A canine involved in the investigation sniffed out a package with 103 grams of crack cocaine, and another package was seized totaling 110 grams.
The release from the sheriff's department said Lark told police his name was Christopher Carter, but his fingerprints were submitted to the FBI in Clarksburg, W.Va., revealing his actual identity.
