Latta’s Toy Station activities

The new toy shop at 943 3rd Ave. will host special activities for kids and families. October’s events include:
 

Thursday, Oct. 16:  Storytime at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Kids can enjoy a reading of the story “Good Night Moon” and then play the game. This event is free and targets kids ages 2 to 6.
 

Saturday, Oct. 18: Pottery Day at 1:30 p.m. Kids can watch a demonstration of “My First Pottery Wheel,” and then make and create their own pottery to take home. This event costs $5 and is for kids age 6 and older.
 

Thursday, Oct. 23: Magic tricks will be performed, and kids will have a chance to be a magician’s apprentice, learning card, coin and rope tricks. This free event is for kids ages 8 and older.
 

Saturday, Oct. 25: Halloween crafts can be made from 2 to 3 p.m. Kids get to make Halloween picture frames. This event costs $3 and is for kids ages 4-10.
 

Thursday, Oct. 30: Latta’s Toy Station will participate in downtown’s Trick-or-Treat event, which goes on from 6 to 8 p.m. on 8th Street near the Cabell County Courthouse.
 

Friday, Oct. 31: A Monster Mash is planned for Halloween night, featuring the “Toy Station Witch,” games and a costume contest. It goes on from 7 to 8 p.m., and kids of all ages are invited.
