HUNTINGTON -- A Huntington woman initially jailed on allegations of malicious wounding, battery and disorderly conduct now faces a charge of transporting drugs into the Western Regional Jail.
The incident happened early Sunday morning as officers booked Alonza Shinea Washington, 21, into the facility.
A criminal complaint charges Washington offered a correctional officer money in return for a cigarette. Washington told the officer that she had no money on her person, but advised she could come up with the necessary cash if the officer allowed her to visit a bathroom.
Washington then entered the bathroom, where she pulled $74 cash and nearly a gram of marijuana from within her body, according to the complaint.
The incident occurred on Washington's 21st birthday.
