A $10 annual registration fee is due at the event. For more information or to RSVP, call Ann Kessinger at 304-526-2616 or e-mail Andrea.Kessinger@chhi.org.

Man pleads guilty to drug charge Monday

HUNTINGTON -- Devon Keith Hale, 24, of Huntington, pleaded guilty Monday before United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers to conspiracy to distribute heroin, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

During a search of Hale's residence in Huntington in December 2007, eight bags of black tar heroin were found.

Hale admitted to buying 24 bags of black tar heroin in Columbus, Ohio, and transporting the heroin to Huntington to sell.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 2, 2009. Hale faces up to 20 years imprisonment and a $1 million fine.

The DEA and Huntington Violent Crime Drug Task Force conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Greg McVey is handling the prosecution.
