New Huntington Mall movie theater expected to open in spring of next year

BARBOURSVILLE -- Construction continues on a new 12-screen movie theater at the Huntington Mall.
The new theater is expected to open in spring of next year.
It will be operated by Cinemark, which also operates the theater at the Ashland Town Center.
The previous theater at the Huntington Mall was operated by Carmike Cinema. It closed in Oct. 2006.
The new theater will encompass more than 48,000 square feet and include more than 3,000 stadium-style seats along with a cutting edge sound system.
