'American Violet' to be shown on Nov. 6
CHARLESTON -- The American Civil Liberties Union of West Virginia Foundation will present a free showing of the recently released movie "American Violet" on Friday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at the West Virginia State University Capitol Center Theater.
This film is being shown as part of the ACLU of West Virginia Foundation's continuing campaign to end racial profiling, according to a press release.
The cast of "American Violet" includes Nicole Beharie, Alfre Woodard, Will Patton, Tim Blake Nelson, rapper/actor Xzibit and Emmy Award-winning actor Charles S. Dutton.
"American Violet," rated PG-13, will be the first film shown for the Fall International Film Festival in Charleston. Refreshments will be provided at 5:30 p.m., prior to the start of the film.
