River Cities Chorus to present fall concert
ASHLAND -- The River Cities Chorus will present its fall concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Centenary United Methodist Church, 2901 Winchester Ave., Ashland.
The chorus is comprised of area residents and Ashland Community and Technical College.
The concert will include pieces for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, with a variety from Renaissance motets, folk songs, spirituals and more contemporary selections from composers ranging from Jacobus Clemens non Papa to Patrick Liebergen and John Rutter.

Deadline set for ChalleNGe Academy
KINGWOOD, W.Va. -- Applications for the next class at the Mountaineer ChalleNGe Academy are being accepted Tuesday, Dec. 1.
The camp is for teenagers between the ages of 16 and 19 who parents think need motivation or are at risk to drop out of school.
Cadets enrolled must be able to pass a mandatory drug test on opening day, Jan. 17, 2010.
The academy's eight core components address physical health and life coping skills, as well GED preparation.
