West Virginia Wesleyan launches online writing course
BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- The Office of Extended Learning at West Virginia Wesleyan has launched a Writing Essentials course which will now be delivered completely online according to David Taylor, director of Extended Learning in a prepared release.
New sessions of this course will now be offered monthly.
"In this course, students will develop the skills they need to excel at business communications and take their creative literary talents to a new level," stated Taylor. "Writing Essentials will permit class participants to master the essentials of writing and become a stellar wordsmith. Whether you are hoping to secure a better job, write for a blog or publish your short story, this course will give you the writing tools you need for success. It is also a perfect choice for students who speak English as a second language."
Writing Essentials is the newest course in Wesleyan's growing catalog of education to go online courses and is entirely Web-based with comprehensive lessons, quizzes and assignments. Through well-crafted lessons, expert online instruction and interaction with fellow students, participants in Wesleyan's ed2go online noncredit program gain valuable knowledge at their convenience.
Ann Linquist will facilitate Writing Essentials. "Linquist is a popular continuing education instructor on college campuses, at corporations, and with nonprofit organizations," said Taylor. "She has helped thousands of adults learn to tackle their writing tasks with enthusiasm. Having written everything from novels to newsletters, articles to ad copy, and poetry to proposals, Linquist is able to address the writing needs of each individual. The breadth of her background ensures a powerful, involving learning experience that builds on the strengths of each participant."
