Putnam sheriff makes drug bust

HURRICANE, W.Va. -- Putnam County Sheriff's Department made four drug arrests on Thursday night.

Chief Deputy Stan Booth said the arrests were based on investigations conducted by members of the department's narcotic's unit. The unit was assisted by uniformed members of the department as well.

Galen Flowers, 26, of Hurricane was arrested on two counts of delivering a controlled substance, marijuana, and one count of possession with the intent to deliver, both felonies.

Derek Odell, 23, of Hurricane was arrested from possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, marijuana, a felony. His bond was posted before Magistrate Linda Hunt on Thursday night.

Nicholas McCormick, 29, of Hurricane was arrested on two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, prescription medication, a felony.

David Dionne, 30, of Hurricane was arrested on two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, heroin, a felony. He is at Western Regional Jail with a bond set at $200,000.
