Columbus man pleads in Mason death
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A 48-year-old Columbus man pleaded guilty Monday to three charges in connection with the death of a Mason County, W.Va., man in June.
Michael Haynie now faces at least 10 years imprisonment and up to life behind bars, according to the Zanesville Times Recorder.
According to statements filed in U.S. District Court in Columbus, Haynie and Adam McClellan of Zanesville, drove to the house of Christopher Roush, a drug dealer in Mason, W.Va. with plans to rob him. Haynie admitted entering the home on June 7, striking an occupant with a gun, which discharged.
Haynie pleaded guilty to one count of interstate travel to commit a crime which resulted in the death of another and will be sentenced at a later date.
