Two shot in Tuesday home invasion
CULLODEN -- The West Virginia State Police believes two men were shot late Tuesday during a home invasion in Culloden.
Investigators received word of the incident about 9:43 p.m. Tuesday. The incident occurred at a trailer in Whites Trailer Park.
West Virginia Senior Trooper J.S. Crane led the investigation, but was unavailable for comment Wednesday. The department's spokesman Sgt. Michael T. Baylous gave some limited details about the incident.
Baylous said two unknown men entered the trailer and demanded money from the victims. One of the victims lives at the trailer park. The other had a Columbus, Ohio, address.
St. Mary's Medical Center officials said both victims were treated and released.
Baylous said Crane's incident report does not indicate if money was taken. Baylous declined comment when asked to describe the relationship, or lack thereof, between the victims and intruders.
No arrest had been reported as of Wednesday afternoon. The investigation remains ongoing.
Initial reports indicated one person was shot in the hand. The other was shot in the leg. Baylous did not dispute those reports, but did not provide further comment about injuries.
