Norway Avenue home damaged in afternoon fire
HUNTINGTON -- A structure fire damaged a home Sunday in the 300 block of Norway Avenue.
When Huntington firefighters arrived on scene of the two-story residence shortly after noon, flames were visible from the second floor toward the back of the structure, according to Deputy Chief Scott Earl. No one was home when the fire started, and no injuries were reported.
The back door to the residence was open when firefighters arrived at the scene, Earl said. The incident will be investigated further, he said.
The fire shut down Norway Avenue between Fairfax Drive and Roby Road for more than an hour.
