Winterplace extending season
BECKLEY -- Winterplace Ski Resort is extending its season to Sunday, March 30.
"Winterplace set a record for snowmaking this season and still has tons of snow for skiing, boarding and tubing," Terry Pfeiffer, president of Winterplace Ski Resort, said in a press release.
Winterplace will be open Monday, March 24, through March 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., for skiing and boarding with discounted rates.
Snowtubing will be open 1 to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
The Winterplace Central Reservations Service also allows guests to reserve everything from lodging to lift tickets by phone. Lodging can be arranged at The Resort at Glade Springs and other lodging facilities in the area.
Learn-to-Ski/Snowboard Packages are offered for first-time skiers and boarders. The Learn-to-Ski/Snowboard Package includes a 90-minute group lesson, rental equipment and beginner lift ticket.
Winterplace is located two minutes off of Interstate 77, at Exit 28, Ghent/Flat Top, near Beckley. More information is available by calling (800) 607-SNOW or visiting winterplace.com.
