Barker appointed to vacant 22nd District seat
CHARLESTON -- Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin appointed Josh Barker on Wednesday to the vacant 22nd District seat in the West Virginia House of Delegates.
Barker, a Democrat who is the town manager of Danville, will serve the remaining 17 months of former Delegate Josh Stowers' term. Stowers took a job with the state Treasurer's Office last month.
The House district includes most of Lincoln County and parts of Putnam, Boone and Logan counties. Barker was among a list of three people whose names were submitted to Tomblin last week by the district's Democratic executive committee.
