Scout is the 10th in Muguyoh District to earn Eagle rank
Robert "Rob" Anderson, 18, is Muguyoh District's 10th Eagle Scout of the year and the 69th Eagle Scout in Troop 12. Anderson is the son of Alicia Anderson of Huntington. His Scoutmaster is Rodger Blake. Troop 12 is sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church in Huntington.
Anderson's Eagle Project was for the Little Victories Animal Shelter in Barboursville. He supervised and assisted volunteers who spent 376 hours building and fencing in an Isolation Area. They also painted the inside and outside of the building, then created a safe walkway across a creek and a culvert.
Anderson graduated from St. Joseph Central High School in Huntington where he was a member of the soccer team and the swim team that won the state championships. He is attending the West Virginia Institute of Technology and majoring in Chemical engineering. In his spare time, Anderson enjoys backpacking, mountain biking, and swimming.
He has taken part in many Scouting and Order of the Arrow programs. He started as a Cub Scout when he was in the First-Grade and has earned 34 merit badges. Anderson was a member of the Council's 2006 Philmont Trek and spent two weeks backpacking in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in northern New Mexico. Anderson is a Brotherhood member in Order of the Arrow, Thal-Zoo-Zyo Lodge 457.
