'Cuts for pups'
HUNTINGTON -- The hairstylists at Luxe Salon on 4th Avenue donated their time and talents Saturday for "Cuts for Pups," a benefit for two animal rescue groups.
From noon to 5 p.m., all proceeds from shampoos, haircuts and blowouts at the salon benefited One By One Animal Advocates and River Cities Bully Buddies.
One By One Animal Advocates works to help animals in local shelters find homes or rescues, as well as reduce the rate of euthanasia because of overpopulation.
River Cities Bully Buddies is a foster home organization dedicated to the rescue of death row shelter dogs that are considered pit bulls. The dogs are spayed or neutered and provided with medical care, food and other necessities.
Organizers asked for a $25 minimum donation for a haircut or blowout.
