Shooting injures one man
HUNTINGTON -- The Huntington Police Department is investigating an early Sunday morning shooting along 4th Avenue.
At 3:41 a.m., HPD units responded to 1208 4th Ave. in front of Z Brick Oven Pizza, on a reported shooting.
Once on the scene, officers located a victim, Robert Henderson, 37, with several gunshot wounds.
Henderson, who gave a South Point, Ohio, address but who police say has ties to Detroit, Michigan, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His wounds are not life-threatening.
The preliminary investigation found that victim and several other males had an altercation in front of business, when one of the males pulled a handgun and started shooting. The victim was struck and attempted to leave the area as officers arrived, according to a press release by HPD.
The only suspect description obtained was a black male, 5 feet 10 inches, medium build wearing black clothing.
The victim refused to give officers any information concerning the shooting and stated he would not cooperate. All information obtained at this point was from witnesses near scene. Officers recovered one handgun.
The investigation is ongoing.
