Applications for Sheriff's Camp due Saturday
HUNTINGTON -- Cabell County Sheriff Tom McComas is reminding all students in eighth and ninth grades to apply to attend the West Virginia Sheriff's Association's Youth Leadership Academy this summer.
The camp will take place from July 13-18 at the Guyandotte Association Baptist Camp in Ona. Applications are due Saturday
"The West Virginia Sheriff's Camp is a great opportunity for the kids of Cabell County to learn about law enforcement careers and develop their leadership skills," McComas said.
"Middle and high school students from all over the state attend the camp. I'm proud to be a part of this worthwhile experience and excited the camp is right here in Cabell County."
The camp is a nonprofit venture, funded by the West Virginia Sheriff's Association and private donations.
