Spartan Fight Club joins effort to help flood victims

July 29, 2010 @ 12:00 AM

ASHLAND -- The Spartan Fight Club is teaming up with River Cities Harvest to fight for relief for those affected by flash flooding that swept through parts of the Tri-State area last week.

The club will be accepting food donations during its Spartan Fighting Championship 5 beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at Raceland-Worthington High School, Raceland, Ky. Carter County Cares, a non-profit agency, will be distributing the items.

Each can donated earns a $1 discount toward admission to Spartan Fighting Championship 5. Attendees can earn up to $2 off of their admission, and families will receive a $5 discount for a donation of five cans or more.

Carter County Cares is a nonprofit organization which identifies, coordinates and provides resources for individuals and families in emergency and crisis situations.
