Voters still have time to register for election
HUNTINGTON -- There is a small window of opportunity for voters to register before the August special election, and one group is providing the means for citizens to do just that this weekend.
The Cabell County Democrat Executive Committee will be registering voters Saturday during the West Virginia Hot Dog Festival as a part of the committee's voter registration drive.
Citizens can register and meet with candidates at the committee's booth in Pullman's Square for the duration of the festival. The goal is to register 500 new voters prior to next month's special elections.
"This is a great opportunity for previously unregistered citizens to learn about the process as well as meet some of their future legislators and leaders," Bob Bailey, chairman of the committee, said.
