Police blotter: Huntington man charged in robbery attempt on Buffington Ave.

Reports from the Huntington Police Department provided the following information:

Justin Lee Smith, 20, of Huntington was charged with felony attempted burglary and misdemeanor disorderly conduct and assault in the 1600 block of Buffington Avenue about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The arrest came after a man broke a window and was trying to get into a home in the 600 block of Hal Greer Boulevard.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: A man was getting gas at a station in the 1400 block of U.S. 60 about 11:30 p.m. Monday when other men approached him and asked for money. When the victim said he did not have any money, the men attacked him. He was later transported to St. Mary's Medical Center with bruises and minor cuts.

LOITERING FOR PROSTITUTION: Amber Nicole Billups, 24, of Huntington was charged with misdemeanor loitering for prostitution and indecent exposure. An officer observed her standing near 15th Street and 7th Avenue when she flashed a motorist, who picked her up and drove to the floodwall.

LARCENY: A $1,000 laptop and $500 digital camera were stolen from a residence in the 2000 block of Buffington Avenue between Friday and Saturday.

Booking records from the Western Regional Jail provided the following information:

Mark Anthony Chandler, 18, was incarcerated about 6:08 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony possession with intent to deliver and misdemeanor not having an operator's license. His bond was $60,500.

Justin Wayne Estep, 21, was incarcerated about 11:50 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities in Lincoln County charged him with felony nighttime burglary, arson or attempt to commit, trespassing, domestic battery, obstructing, fleeing on foot, assault, weapon brandishing and domestic assault. Bond was set at $70,000.
