Woman, 25, charged with child neglect

HUNTINGTON -- A 25-year-old Huntington woman has been arrested on a child neglect charge following a possible drug overdose Thursday.

According to the criminal complaint, Kayla Marie Karr was found unresponsive on the floor of a bathroom stall at a grocery store in the 100 block 6th Avenue. She was shaking and unable to speak, with a needle in her arm and the top the needle in her hand.

Her infant daughter was in a baby carrier on the floor beside her.

If convicted, Karr faces one to five years in prison. She is being held at the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville.
