Sidewalk ramp work continues in Ashland

Jul. 14, 2013 @ 12:03 AM

ASHLAND -- Sidewalk ramp work continues next week along Winchester Avenue (U.S. 23) and 13th Street (U.S. 60) in downtown Ashland, according to a news release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Contractors are continuing to install handicapped-accessible sidewalk ramps at intersections as part of a $1.88 million project that includes resurfacing 1.8 miles of U.S. 23 and 2.8 miles of U.S. 60 in Ashland later this summer.

The work is being done at night, Monday through Saturday, for the next three works.

Another project calls for contractors to pave an eight-mile section of Kentucky 3 from its intersection with Kentucky 180 in Cannonsburg to the Lawrence County line as part of an $868,620 project. One-lane traffic is scheduled when the work starts Tuesday, July 16. The work is expected to take two weeks.
