Cabell County GOP hosting Women of Influence dinner
HUNTINGTON -- The Cabell County GOP will host its annual Women of Influence dinner on Friday, Aug. 23, at Guyan Golf and Country Club.
The guest speaker for the dinner is Sharon Day, co-chair for the Republican National Committee.
The event will commemorate the 63rd anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote. It also celebrates women who have made positive impacts in the state and community by handing out two awards: Community Woman of Influence and Public Office/Service Woman of Influence.
This year's winners are Helen Freeman, founder of Huntington Outdoor Theater and drama teacher at Huntington High School, as the Community Woman of Influence. Some members of the cast from the final Huntington Outdoor Theater show "Hairspray" will perform.
Cabell County Delegates Carol Miller and Kelli Sobonya are each receiving the Public Office Woman of the Year award.
Tickets are $50 each, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.
Reservations can be made by calling 304-617-6066 or by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
