American Cancer Society awards three-year grant
CHARLESTON -- The American Cancer Society has awarded a three-year, $120,000 grant to West Virginia University to support four junior faculty members with pilot projects involving population studies or laboratory based research.
Dr. Scot Remick, director of the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center at WVU, said the grant will provide junior faculty an opportunity to seek competitive funding to support their cancer research.
WVU's grant is one of 17 awarded nationwide by the American Cancer Society and is the only such grant awarded in West Virginia.
The Cancer Center will accept applications this spring from junior faculty seeking funding.
