Police blotter: Stolen property recovered, two arrested and charged

Reports from the Huntington Police Department provided the following information:

One person saw a suspicious person check vehicle door handles, called police and that resulted in two arrests.

Brandon Keith Blankenship, 28, and Misty Anderson, 28, were jailed and charged with felony receiving/transferring stolen property. Blankenship received four felony counts and a misdemeanor count. Anderson received a single felony count.

The arrests followed a series of thefts from vehicles parked at a hotel in the 800 block of 3rd Avenue, along with another location in the 1500 block of 4th Avenue.

Items stolen included a laptop, several accessories for an iPod and a camera case containing $1,590 in equipment.

The witness called notified police about 1:15 a.m. Thursday. The arrests were made in separate locations. The property was returned to its rightful owner.

VANDALS: Police responded to four vandalism reports, all involved vehicles with spray painted or wood sealant.

The vandalism occurred between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Two incidents took placed along Sycamore Street, while others happened at Pine Street and Oney Avenue.

One of the Sycamore Street vehicles had a thick layer of what appeared to be wood sealant splattered onto it. The others involved spray paint.

BURGLARY: An unknown thief took about $3,200 in items from an apartment in the 1700 block of 6th Avenue. It occurred between 5 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim, a student, lost an $1,800 laptop, a $480 electric guitar, a $350 video game unit and other items. Fingerprints and DNA evidence was taken from the scene.

YACHT CLUB: Two suspects arrested in Lawrence County, Ohio, told authorities they had stolen items from the Huntington Yacht Club. It is located in the 1300 block of Harris Park Drive.

Owners were trying to determine specific property stolen at the time of the report. The suspects, who were not officially charged, said the property was taken to an area recycling center.

Reports from the Huntington Police Department provided the following information:

BREAK-IN: A neighbor returned $1,150 in tools, after the victim reported it as a theft to deputies.

The items were taken from a residence in the 900 block of Fudges Creek Road. The theft occurred between 9 p.m. Monday and 12:40 p.m. Tuesday. The victim did not pursue charges.

Booking records from the Western Regional Jail provided the following information:

Chelsea Jordan Clark, 23, was incarcerated at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Cabell County charged her with felony attempted burglary, along with misdemeanor brandishing and public intoxication. Bond was denied.
