Grant available for minority law students
BECKLEY -- The Mountain State Bar Association is offering a challenge grant to assist minorities and disadvantaged law students without financial means to obtain education.
The Brown Wesley Payne Fellowship was started in 1974, but a permanent endowment was created in 2003. The fund also is accepting donations that will be matched up to $12,000 by J. Franklin Long, Esq., a past president and active member of the Mountain State Bar Association.
Anyone interested in making a donation can write a check to BAF-Brown Wesley Payne Fellowship Fund and mail it to Beckley Area Foundation, 129 Main St., Suite 203, Beckley, WV 25801.
