Police blotter: Three burglaries reported Wednesday in Milton

The following information was provided by the Cabell County Sheriff's Office:

Two homes in the 3000 and 4000 blocks of Traces Creek Road in Milton were burglarized during the day Wednesday.

The owners of the home in the 3000 block reported the following items stolen: $1,000 in cash, an LCD television valued at $650 and various men's jewelry worth another $1,700. One of the victims told authorities that a back door might have been left open.

At the home in the 4000 block, owners reported to coming home at 4 p.m. and finding numerous items missing as well. The owners reported to that a door may have not been shut all the way. A laptop worth $1,500 and a $200 rifle were reported stolen.

BURGLARY/ BREAKING AND ENTERING: A 31-year-old Milton man reported that his residence in the 2000 block of Kirby Road was burglarized sometime between 1:15 and 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. The report states the back door was forced open, damaging the outer door, lock and door frame. Items reported missing included a video game system, wedding ring, various jewelry, a camcorder, digital camera and other small items. The value was about $2,500.

LARCENY: A California man staying at a hotel in Barboursville reported Wednesday that someone took his wallet, which was in a pair of jeans in his room. He reported that he had a paycheck for $7,000, $1,000 in cash and credit cards. He told authorities that he stopped payment on his check and canceled the credit cards.

BURGLARY: A 48-year-old Huntington woman reported that her residence in the 4800 block of Green Valley Road was burglarized sometime between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. Monday. She reported that a jewelry box with various valuables inside was the only thing missing. The owners believe someone gained entry through an unlocked door while they were at a business next door to their home.

The lost jewelry, which includes gold chains and rings, is valued at about $2,000.

LARCENY: A Huntington man reported that someone stole a compound bow and case from his business in 7000 block of Ohio River Road in Lesage. The incident was reported to have happened sometime between June 1 to 21. The bow is reportedly worth $1,200.

The following information was provided by the Huntington Police Department:

A 21-year-old Huntington woman reported to police that her apartment in the 600 block of 2nd Street was broken into sometime between July 20 to 22. The living room window was smashed out, and a laptop was missing. A tire was found in the bedroom, which is believed to be the object that went through window. The laptop was reported as worth $1,300, while the damaged window will cost about $300 to replace.

BREAKING AND ENTERING: An official with Cabell County Schools reported to police that someone took two laptops from Enslow Middle School, 2631 Collis Ave., this week. The laptops, worth about $1,000 each, were taken from a computer lab.

The following information was provided by the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville:

Gregory Allen Carter, 22, was incarcerated at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony attempted burglary. Bond was $15,000.

Joseph Adam Rakes, 30, was incarcerated at 8:23 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony robbery. Bond was $25,000.

Charles Brandon Stamper, 23, was incarcerated at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Wayne County charged him with felony cultivation of marijuana. Bond was $5,000.
