Police blotter: Deputies find $1,200 in oxycontin after DUI arrest
The following information was provided by the Cabell County Sheriff's Office:
Ronald W. Davis, 36, of Huntington was arrested at 4:34 p.m. March 7, after a traffic stop in the 4300 block of U.S. 60 E.
Police confiscated 29 oxycontin pills worth $1,270.
Davis was charged with a felony count of possession with intent to deliver and a misdemeanor count of first-degree DUI. He has since been released from Western Regional Jail after posting bond.
FALSE PRETENSES: An assistant branch manager of Chase Bank in Barboursville reported that two people passed approximately 14 checks between Jan. 15 and Feb. 25 at various banks, totaling more than $13,000. The fraud departments at the various banks have been notified, and the account holder has been reimbursed. Police have two suspects in the case.
LARCENY: A 73-year-old Barboursville man reported on March 5 that sometime between Feb. 1 and 12, someone stole a hunting rifle and scope from his residence on Regal Oaks. The items were estimated at a combined $900.
The following information was provided by the Huntington Police Department:
A 32-year-old Kenova man reported that his Harley-Davidson motorcycle was stolen from his cousin's garage in the 500 block of 13th Avenue in Huntington sometime between Feb. 16 and March 9. The garage was unsecured, and the bike had expired West Virginia tags. It is valued at $17,500.
LARCENY: An employee of a residential building construction company reported that a $5,900 plate compactor was stolen from a job site on Hunting Bow Trail, a dead-end, residential street.
The 800-pound machine was taken sometime between 1 p.m. March 7 and 7:30 a.m. March 8. A neighbor reported to seeing a red pickup truck leave the area, a vehicle the person had not seen before.
BREAKING AND ENTERING: An employee of AGM Automotive, located in the 900 block of Washington Avenue, reported that the suspect, possibly a former employee, cut a hole in the perimeter fence and forcibly entered the rear door sometime between 4 and 5:34 p.m. Tuesday. The suspect stole two computers, two airguns, an engine scanner and two other automotive items. The total value of the items was listed at $8,600.
The following information was provided by the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville:
Gregory Boyd Muncy, 31, was incarcerated at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Wayne County charged him with three felony counts of receiving and transferring stolen property and a felony count of nighttime burglary. He also was charged with a misdemeanor count of joy riding. Bond was set at $100,000.
Mark Louis Roach, 26, was incarcerated at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Putnam County charged him with felony counts of first-degree sexual abuse and sexual assault, along with misdemeanor counts of driving on a suspended or revoked license and no insurance. Bond was set at $102,000.
