Three arrested on robbery-related charges
BARBOURSVILLE -- Three people wanted in connection with recent purse snatchings were arrested around 8 p.m. Wednesday night by deputies with the Cabell County Drug Task Force and Barboursville Police.
The trio, Brandon H. Bennett, Jacquline Lynette Jarrett and Stacy Ann Thacker -- are all listed as currently living in Huntington -- were spotted at the Huntington Mall and then pulled over on Melody Farms Road, according to Lt. Bob Copley with the Cabell County Sheriff's Department. The vehicle and occupants, he said, matched the descriptions given by victims.
He said the three were involved with two purse snatchings that occurred on Monday and earlier Wednesday in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart on U.S. 60 East, Huntington. In Monday's incident, the accused used force to take the purse of an 81-year-old woman.
Bennett, 18, also listed as from Princeton, W. Va., was charged with felony counts for accessory to first-degree robbery and conspiracy. He also was charged with a misdemeanor for conspiracy.
Jarrett, 28, faces the same two charges of conspiracy, along with a felony count of first-degree robbery and a misdemeanor count of petit larceny.
Thacker, 36, faces two misdemeanor counts of receiving and transferring stolen property and two counts through the Barboursville Police Department for attempting to commit to felonies.
The three were arraigned late Wednesday night at the Cabell County Courthouse and then incarcerated at the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville.
