Blotter: Man arrested in connection with March robbery
The following information was provided by criminal complaints filed in Cabell County Magistrate Court:
Cory Tyler Cotton, 21, of Huntington, was arrested Monday and charged with felony robbery in connection with an incident that took place in March.
Just before 4 a.m. on March 31, two men struck a man multiple times in the face with clenched fists while in the 1300 block of 4th Avenue, a Huntington Police officer said in the criminal complaint. The two men took the victim's cellphone and fled the area, the officer said in the complaint.
The victim suffered cuts and swelling to his face.
Cotton's bond was set at $15,000.
In a separate case, Zachary Daniel Patterson, 25, of Huntington, was arrested Sunday and charged with felony burglary.
Two men reported they saw a man break into a home in the 600 block of West 13th Street at 2:39 a.m. Sunday, a Huntington Police officer said in the criminal complaint. A footprint on the door of the home matched the footprint of a man in the area, according to the complaint.
Patterson's bond was set at $15,000.
In a separate case, Carey-Ray Chason Ratcliff, 28, of Ashland, was arrested Sunday and charged with third-offense driving under the influence, a felony.
A Huntington Police officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 400 block of 12th Street at 3:10 a.m. Sunday after witnessing the vehicle back into another vehicle and drive away.
The driver of the vehicle had the odor of alcohol on his breath, glassy and bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet, the officer said in the complaint.
The man failed all field sobriety tests, and his blood alcohol content was .215.
A background check revealed the man had two prior convictions for driving under the influence in 2011.
Ratcliff's bond was set at $10,000.
The following information was provided by reports filed with the Huntington Police Department:
LARCENY: A 36-year-old man reported two people took $900 in electronics, a $60 watch and a lighter worth $35 from his residence in the 1800 block of Underwood Avenue at about 1 a.m. Sunday.
POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: A 21-year-old Milton woman was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance Monday.
An officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 400 block of Marcum Terrace on Monday evening. During a search of the vehicle, officers found a jar of marijuana in a backpack in the car and two baggies of marijuana in the center console of the vehicle. A woman in the vehicle admitted to having the marijuana in her backpack.
The following information was provided by booking records at the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville:
Anthony Eugene Driscoll, 28, was incarcerated at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with an unspecified felony charge and a misdemeanor obstruction. Bond was denied pending arraignment.
Thaddeas Marton Reams, 25, was incarcerated Monday evening. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with three felony bench warrants and a single count of misdemeanor petit larceny. Bond was $2,500.
