Conference keynote speakers

Kevin Stolarick

Title: Research director of the Martin Prosperity Institute at the University of Toronto.

When: 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19

What he'll talk about: In a speech titled, "The Creative Economy Outside City Limits," Stolarick will discuss how the creative economy is about the fundamental shift in the world's economies that is creating game-changing strategies for West Virginia. He also will provide strategies and examples for leveraging the region's natural advantages for success.

David Wiley

Title: Associate professor of instructional psychology and technology at Brigham Young University.

When: 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19.

What he'll talk about: The native West Virginian and graduate of Marshall University who was named one of the 100 Most Creative People in Business by Fast Company Magazine will give a speech titled, "Enrolling in the Creative Class: Education and the Future Economy."

Anya Kamenetz

Title: Staff writer for Fast Company Magazine and author of "Generation Debt."

When: 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20.

What she'll talk about: In a speech called, "Beyond the Grid: How West Virginia Can Build a Green Energy Economy Through Small-Scale, Smart Renewables," Kamenetz will discuss how the state has the opportunity to foster a vibrant renewable energy industry and become a leader in the future of the "microgrid."

Marcus Jadotte

Title: Managing director of public affairs for NASCAR.

When: 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20.

What he'll talk about: In a speech titled, "Championing Diversity in Non-Diverse Worlds," Jadotte will discuss how developing proactive diversity programs can open new markets and pools of talent, and how that applies to economic development in West Virginia.

Note: All keynote speeches will take place at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena.
