Barboursville police blotter: Two break-ins of vehicles reported at Huntington Mall

The following information was provided by the Barboursville Police Department:

Officers are investigating two separate vehicle break-ins outside of a sporting goods store at the Huntington Mall.

The first was reported at 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 11. A Branchland, W.Va., man reported somebody broke his passenger side window, while he was visiting stores inside. A $300 speaker box with two subwoofers and a $250 amplifier were taken.

At 7:26 p.m. Sunday, June 13, a Barboursville man reported somebody had broken his passenger side window as he worked inside. A $550 speaker and a $450 amplifier were taken. Officers found boxer shorts in the trunk not belonging to the victim, along with blood on the trunk liner and vehicle roof.

DUI CRASH: A 29-year-old woman from Barboursville was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence and failure to stay in a lane. The arrest followed a reported vehicle crash at 3:04 a.m. Friday in the 6200 block of U.S. 60 at its intersection with Martin Drive.

SHOPPLIFTING: Officers investigated six separate shoplifting complaints since Thursday, June 10. Arrests were reported in each case charging seven people misdemeanor shoplifting.

Rachel Loren Bailey, 23, of Huntington was arrested in connection with a Monday, June 14, incident at Macy's in the Huntington Mall. A $118 purse and $79 in shoes were taken.

Nathan Lee Harless, 23, of Huntington, and a 16-year-old from Ironton were arrested in connection with a Monday, June 14, incident at Sears in the Huntington Mall. About $70 in shoes and $113 in cologne were taken. A prior conviction means Harless faces second-offense shoplifting.

Brandi Lynn Briscoe, 24, of Winfield, W.Va., was arrested in connection with a Monday, June 14, incident at Macy's. About $85 in jewelry and clothing were taken.

April Dawn Cremeans, 30, of Huntington was arrested in connection with a Saturday, June 12, incident at J.C. Penney in the Huntington Mall. The released report did not list the items taken. The officer did seize $235 in prescription medication. Cremeans was additionally charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.

Marcella A. Pletka, 48, of Huntington was arrested in connection with a Saturday, June 12, incident at Home Depot in the Merritt Creek Farm shopping center. About $780 in electrical wire was taken.

Patricia Joan Hensley, 30, of Huntington was arrested in connection with a Thursday, June 10, incident at Kohl's at the Huntington Mall. Jewelry and clothing was taken. The value was not listed in the released report.
