May 21, 2009 @ 12:00 AM

MASON, W.Va. -- A man has submitted his resignation as principal of Wahama High School following charges of sexual abuse and incest stemming back to 1986.

According to Mason County Magistrate Court records, David Gregory Graham, 59, of Pomeroy, Ohio, was charged Tuesday with sexual abuse by a parent, first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree sexual assault and incest. The victim was 9 years old at the time of the incidents, the documents say.

Mason County Board of Education officials said Graham's resignation is on the board's meeting agenda for the 4:30 p.m. session scheduled for Thursday, May 21, at the Mason County Career Center.

According to the criminal complaint, the crimes took place between June 8 and June 14 of 1986 in Mason County.

Graham posted a $100,000 bond following his arrest.

Larry Parsons, Mason superintendent of schools, said that Roger Keefer will temporarily act as principal at Wahama through the end of the school year.

"He has extensive secondary schools experience," Parsons said. As a substitute principal, Keefer also has experience closing out schools for the year, Parsons said.
