Holocaust survivor shares meal, story with Huntington Middle students

May 21, 2009 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- Holocaust survivor Irene Zisblatt, in a return trip to the Tri-State, had lunch with students from Huntington Middle School late Wednesday morning at Second Presbyterian Church on Jefferson Avenue.

She then spent the early part of the afternoon recounting her story of survival in a Nazi concentration camp, which she detailed her in book, "The Fifth Diamond."

Zisblatt first visited the Tri-State in January but came back because the demand for her free presentations was so high. This past week, she has visited Locust Grove Baptist Church, St. Joseph Middle School, Buffalo Middle School, Grace Christian School, Covenant School, Christ Temple Academy and Rose Hill Christian School.

On Thursday, she'll end her stay with talks at South Point Middle School and Wayne Middle School.
