Winfield United Methodist Church is hosting Bible Blast

Winfield United Methodist Church is hosting Bible Blast-a community fun night Wednesday, May 21, at the church, located behind U.S. Rt. 35 McDonald's.

Free hot dogs will be served at 6 p.m. and the fun begins at 6:30 p.m. with a 3 N 1 Jupiter Jump for younger kids and a Joust for the older kids. Admission is free. Call (304) 586-3795 for more information.

The community is invited to a special Mother's Day concert Sunday, May 11, at 10:15 a.m. at the Teays Valley Church of God in Scott Depot.

Recording artist Dana Baker will be in concert. Baker suffered multiple tragedies including the deaths of two sisters in two separate car accidents, a miscarriage, the struggle of five years of infertility, and caring for her mother who a suffered severe aneurysm, all within a short period of a few years. She will discuss how her faith in God sustained her through those difficult times. Her mother will also be at the event

Monteia's Academy of Performing Arts will team up with the sanctuary choir of the Teays Valley Church of God at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, for "Celebration of Praise 2008," a Gospel Praise and Worship Concert.

The concert, directed by Worship Minister Mandy Bohm, will feature a wide variety of musical styles. Advanced dancers from Monteia's Academy of Performing Arts will present expressive worship dances.
