Police blotter: Kenova man arrested on robbery, obstruction charges
Reports from the Huntington Police Department provided the following information:
Kenneth Odell Adkins, 25, of Kenova was arrested Thursday at 2:22 p.m. on a charge of first-degree robbery and misdemeanor obstruction.
The arrest came after a woman told officers that she was approached by a man who attempted to grab her purse and pull it away from her. The suspect took the purse following a struggle that ended with the woman being hurled into a pole.The victim reported the incident resulted in pain to the right temple area and right arm.
The man got into a confrontation with police.
The bond for both charges was set at $12,500.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING: Bruce Emanuel Asbury Jr., was arrested in the 1300 block of 18th Street Friday at about 2:20 a.m. on charges of malicious wounding.
The arrest came after a man hit his wife several times in the face with a closed fist in their residence on the 1200 block of 18th Street, police said. The victim ran across the street to a neighbor's home and 911 was contacted. The victim, who was taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital, sustained several broken bones in her face.
GRAND LARCENY: A business on the 800 block of 7th Avenue reported that about $7,000 worth of tools were removed from the business over a period of time in August.
The owner of the business suspects one of his employees is responsible for the thefts. A list of the tools and serial numbers was given to the detective bureau for further analysis.
BURGLARY ARREST: John Wayne Adkins Jr., 30, of Chesapeake, Ohio, was arrested at about 11:30 Thursday in the 200 block of Bridge Street on an active warrant for burglary.
He was taken to the West Regional Jail Facility after being arraigned for a $13,000 bond on charges of domestic assault and nighttime burglary.
