South Point man arrested on felony drug charges
SOUTH POINT -- A South Point man was arrested and charged with illegal possession of more than 70 Oxycodone pills as well as 38 Xanax pills during a traffic stop Saturday.
Ohio State Troopers arrested Randall G. Barnett, 35, for felony possession of illegal narcotics as well as a misdemeanor drug charge. Barnett was also charged with driving under the influence, expired registration and possession of drug paraphernalia, authorities said.
Barnett was stopped for a registration violation in Fayette Township in Lawrence County. Further investigation led to the discovery of the drugs, police said.
Barnett is scheduled to appear in Lawrence County Municipal Court Monday at 9 a.m.
The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department and South Point Police Department assisted in the arrest.
