Putnam Schools to offer developmental screenings
SCOTT DEPOT, W.Va. -- Putnam County Schools Developmental Screenings will be held on Friday, Sept. 12, at the Teays Valley Presbyterian Church located at 4122 Teays Valley Road.
Putnam Schools' Karren Sparks explained that the screenings are intended to identify potential problems a child might have that could affect their school performance. With these deficits discovered early on, Sparks says, "It allows us to address problems even before they go to school."
Children ages two and a half to four years old will be evaluated in the areas of speech/language, hearing, vision, motor skills, social skills, self-help and cognition.
