Police blotter: Women arrested after marijuana, children found in vehicle

Police reports from the Huntington Police Department provided the following information:

Two Huntington women were arrested Saturday after authorities discovered marijuana and three children inside a vehicle the women were operating.

Ahsley Michelle Butler, 27, and Misty McQuaid, 27, were charged with possession with intent and child neglect.

The incident occurred about 5:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of 9th Avenue.

Officers initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle without visible registration. One suspect gave officers consent to search the vehicle. Marijuana and an illegal prescription of pills were found inside the vehicle. A 3-year-old child, a 5-year-old child and a 2-month-old baby were turned over to relatives.

FLEEING/RECEIVING AND TRANSFERRING STOLEN PROPERTY: Two people were arrested Saturday after they were charged with fleeing from authorities and operating a stolen vehicle.

Angela Dawn Hammons, 41, of Cross Lanes, was charged with receiving and transferring stolen property. Stanley Eugene Fulks, 42, of Nitro, was charged with receiving and transferring stolen property and fleeing.

The incident occurred about 10:27 p.m. in the 200 block of 4th Avenue.

Police spotted the reported stolen vehicle in the 300 block of 4th Avenue and signaled for it to stop. The vehicle continued westbound on 4th Avenue and 1st Street. Then the vehicle turned south on 1st Street but was stopped on the south side of Washington Avenue.

ARMED ROBBERY: A man and a woman armed with handguns were reported to have robbed the Highway Inn, 4800 Piedmont Road The robbery occurred about 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police were told a man and a woman brandished firearms and ordered victims to the back room and told them to hand over their money. The man and woman took the money and ran in an unknown direction.

BURGLARY: A 24-year-old Huntington woman reported that two men broke into her residence and stole numerous items about 9 p.m. Saturday in the 4800 block of Bradley Road. Police have one suspect.

BURGLARY/BRANDISHING: A 28-year-old Huntington woman reported that someone kicked down the front door of her residence and pointed a sawed-off shotgun at her about 1:48 a.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of Daulton Avenue.

The woman said she walked toward her front door after hearing a loud bang. She said a man kicked the door down and pointed a shotgun at her. The woman ran out the back of the residence and the man fled the area.

EMBEZZLEMENT: About $2,400 was reported missing from the bank deposit of Jolly Pirates, 110 5th Ave. The incident occurred at an unknown time in April. Police have one suspect.

LARCENY/FRAUDULENT USE OF ACCESS DEVICE: A 48-year-old Huntington woman reported that someone stole her wallet from her purse at 8 a.m. Friday in the 1100 block of Monroe Avenue and made four purchases with her debit card.

LARCENY: A 38-year-old Huntington man reported that a family member's wallet was stolen from her purse while they were packing a vehicle to take a vacation about 8:48 a.m. Friday in the 3000 block of 3rd Avenue. Police have one suspect.

ENTERING WITHOUT BREAKING: A laptop computer was reported stolen from the American Benefit Corp., 401 11th St. The incident occurred between 5:30 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday.

Sheriff reports from the Cabell County Sheriff's Office provided the following information:

About $1,100 was reported missing from the B.P. Little General, 3498 U.S. 60. The incident occurred between 4 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Deputies have one suspect.

BURGLARY: A 31-year-old Barboursville woman reported that someone entered the unlocked front door of her home and stole approximately $1,800 from a cash box about 1 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Nedra Drive.

Deputies have one suspect.

BURGLARY: A 20-year-old man from Ona reported that someone broke into his residence and stole various property items between 11:45 p.m. Sunday, May 11, and 6 a.m. Monday, May 12, in the 3800 block of River Park Drive in Ona.
