HUNTINGTON -- Huntington High School's best of the best showcased their talent Tuesday hoping to win the talent show title.
All of the 15 acts were good, but the student body chose its winner loud and clear. Senior Ron Peters, who was the last act and did break-dancing to a medley of music and earned 437 points to lead the way.
The G-Nerds, 314, and the 304 Girls, 272, finished second and third, respectively to round out the top three spots.
Junior Alissa Fetherholf, who worked backstage and was in charge of helping to set the stage for each act and getting the acts in position, said it also allowed her to see a lighter side of the student body.
"Everybody has two sides to them," Fetherholf said. "There is a side they don't want anyone to see and a side they allow everyone to see. It's an intimate thing when people share their talents with you."
The G-Nerds, who were comprised of six juniors and one freshman, are used to displayed their talents performing in show choir. The team, which consisted of Taylor Logan, Cheyenne Dishman, Queen Taylor, Jill Felder, Leanna White, Eboni Bowens and Jasmine Felder, said it is a little different to perform in front of the student body, especially when it is them casting the votes.
But, the girls said, it also means more to know that their peers thought they were a cut above the rest.
