During the event at the Marshall University Foundation Hall Gen. Robert H. "Doc" Foglesong, former Sen. Lloyd G. Jackson II and U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., were inducted to the hall of fame for their contributions to higher education that have spanned more than an entire generation.
The event is hosted annually by the June Harless Center for Rural Educational Research and Development at Marshall, and it offers the opportunity for the center to not only honor their most noteworthy advocates, but to focus on the opportunities they have helped create, said Stan Maynard, director of the center.
