HURRICANE, W. Va. -- Mayor Scott Edwards' property became a casualty in Hurricane's recent spree of break-ins and thefts.
The Hurricane Police Department reports that more than $1,000 worth of items were stolen late Monday night or early Tuesday morning from a garage at a house belonging to the mayor located in the 3500 block of Carpenter Avenue.
Though the garage was reported to have been closed, there were no signs of forced entry and nothing was broken. Items taken included an iPod, weed eater and leaf blower.
No suspects have been identified at this time.
The mayor was unavailable comment on Wednesday.
