Hospital facilities to go tobacco free on Nov. 15
HUNTINGTON -- On Thursday, Cabell Huntington Hospital, Marshall Health and the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center will become tobacco free.
The use of all tobacco products will be prohibited on the hospital and medical center campus, all Marshall Health satellite offices, including the Coon Education Building, School of Pharmacy, as well as all outlying Cabell Huntington Hospital Family Medical Centers and medical facilities in Huntington, Kenova and Barboursville.
November is National Lung Cancer Awareness Month and Nov. 15, the day of the Great American Smokeout, was designated as the date for the tobacco-free campus policy to take effect.
To further education the community about lung health and preventing lung disease, the Center for Lung Health at Cabell Huntington hospital will host a free chronic obstructive pulmonary disease screening and education event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15.
