Man arrested for DUI
HUNTINGTON -- A Huntington man was arrested Tuesday and accused of driving drunk, causing and accident and leaving the scene.
Kelly Ryan McEntee, 45, was charged with felony third offense driving under the influence causing bodily injury, felony driving under the influence and fleeing, misdemeanor driving on a suspended or revoked license and misdemeanor driving with no proof of insurance, according to a criminal complaint filed in Cabell County Magistrate Court.
The complaint stated McEntee was the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a two-car collision at the intersection of U.S. 60 and W.Va. 10 in Barboursville. The responding Barboursville Police officer said in the complaint that McEntee had "a strong odor of alcohol on his breath with red glassy eyes and slurred speech."
McEntee attempted to run away from the scene on foot, but he was apprehended by officers after they found him hiding behind a nearby trash bin.
A background check revealed two prior DUI convictions, and McEntee's license previously had been suspended as a result.
He was incarcerated at Western Regional Jail Tuesday, where his bond was $25,200.
