Downtown businesses host Valentine's giveaway
HUNTINGTON -- Downtown businesses are giving away merchandise and entertainment packages as part of the Downtown Live Committee's Ultimate Sweetheart Giveaway.
Businesses will have registration cards and baskets in which to deposit the registration cards until Friday, Feb. 12. After Saturday, Feb. 13, the winners will be announced from a random drawing of all the registered participants.
Prize packages may include the following: a hotel stay at the new TownePlace Suites by Marriott, dinner at Savannah's, Jewel City Seafood, MU Hall of Fame Cafe, Max and Erma's, Stewart's Hotdogs, UNO Chicago Grill, Little Caesar's Pizza, Pita Pit, Chili Willi's, Funny Bone Comedy Club and Restaurant and doughnuts from Jolly Pirate. Jewelry from Reushlein's Jewelers and gift certificates for Mug and Pia will be offered as well.
Other participants are Jeslyn Performing Arts Center, Mack and Dave's, Studio 406 Salon, Frostop Drive-In, Latta's Toy Station, Claysong Pottery, the Red Caboose Gift Shop and the 4th Avenue Cinema Theatre. Community Trust Bank is giving away a $100 savings bond, and the Big Sandy Superstore Arena is giving tickets to Lipizzaner Stallions.
Contestants can visit one of the following businesses to register: Latta's Toy Station, Mug and Pia, Marshall Hall of Fame Café, Community Trust Bank, the Cabell-Huntington Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Uno Chicago Grill, Studio 406 Salon, Reuschlein Jewelers, Mack and Dave's, Jewel City Seafood, Jolly Pirate of 1st Street, Jeslyn Performing Arts Center and the Big Sandy Superstore Arena.
The Downtown Live Committee is part of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce. The committee's purpose is to plan and execute events downtown that will create retail and restaurant traffic for area businesses.
