HUNTINGTON -- Another water main break has interrupted water service to residents living along more than 125 streets in Cabell and Lincoln counties, according to West Virginia American Water.

The company reported in a press release that a water main break drained a tank that serves residents in the area. It was the same problem that affected 2,400 customers on 115 streets earlier this week in eastern Cabell County.

Water service has been restored to much of the area, but a boil water advisory remains in effect until further notice. Those affected live in Barboursville, Salt Rock, Milton and West Hamlin in Cabell and Lincoln counties.

Customers should bring water used for drinking, cooking, bathing and brushing teeth to a full boil for a minimum of one minute. Such action kills bacteria and other organisms that may be present.
