Weight loss challenge in Huntington to start Aug. 14

August 06, 2008 @ 04:40 PM

The Herald-Dispatch
HUNTINGTON — Wellness coach Diana Millne is challenging area residents to lose weight.
The 12-week weight loss challenge will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Construction and General Laborers' Local #543, located at 401 7th Ave., in Huntington.

Millne and husband Tim will lead the educational classes, which cost $39 to sign up, each week for people of all ages.

“We want to focus on the obesity not only for the adults, but for the children, as well,” she said.
The Millnes themselves have lost a significant amount of weight and kept it off for a year. Tim Millne wants to lose even more, and he plans to compete in the challenge alongside his students, Diana Millne said.

Each week, participants will weigh in and have their measurements taken. Prizes will be given to the person who makes the most progress each week.

Each class will focus on different topics, including things like carbohydrates, water, and dining out.

“Our mission is nutrition — to change one person’s life and actually save their life,” Diana Millne said.

All classes will begin around 7 p.m. but participants should arrive early to weigh in.
